Office of The Director of Planning And Development

The Office of Planning and Development (P&D) takes part mainly in developing the physical and academic quality of the university. As per demand of the university authority, under the fifty-five years and mid-term plans of the government, proposals of infrastructural construction, opening of new departments, institutes, faculties, etc. are sent to UGC. Then, being recommended by the Ministry of Education, the proposals are sent to ECNEC through different wings of the Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, for approval. Then, after having the allocation in accordance with the project records, the proposal for fund release is sent to UGC as per the allocated ADP. After fund release, various infrastructure activates, including academic buildings, are being built through the engineering office of this university, and various faculties, departments, etc. are to be opened as per the rules of the university.

During the project implementation period, the P&D office sends various reports to the UGC, the Ministry of Education, the Planning Commission, and the concerned government offices. Sometimes the P&D office attends an ADP meeting for assessment and to take fast action in all activities of the project. Apart from this, required educational consultants and all-out cooperation are supplied to academic departments through tenders. From the university development project to implementation, invigilation, and assessment, all the works get coordinated and completed by the P&D Office.

Since 1986, its year of establishment, the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology P&D office has been taking and implementing various development projects.

Moreover, since 2008, science & office equipment, exam materials, and other necessary objects have been purchased jointly by the P&D Office, being directly co-operated by the annexed Central Procurement Cell (CPC).
