Academic Activities:

Workshops:
The department of Geography and Environment organized a day long workshop titled “ Utilization of Advanced Geographical Tools and Technology” on 4 August, 2025.  Training partner was Eutech Systems Limited, Dhaka. Trainer was Tania Sultana, Research Officer, Eutech Systems Limited, Dhaka. The main target of this program was to enhance participant’s practical knowledge and understanding about modern geospatial techniques. Through interactive demonstration’s, sessions and hands on exercise’s participants gained valuable insights into use of advanced geographical tools and technology which can be effectively used for disaster management, urban planning and sustainable resource utilization. 
 
Drone Inauguration:
As part of its dedication to the development of modern geographical and technology based education, the department has launched its first drone on 4 August, 2025. This milestone represents a significant step toward integrating Unmanned Aerial Technology (UAV) into academic and research activities enabling students and researchers to acquire high resolution spatial data for mapping, land use analysis and disaster management.

Orientation Program:
To welcome new students and introduce them to the academic environment, faculty, curriculum, rules and facilities of the department, orientation programs are organized every year.

Sports:
⦁ Inter-department Football Tournament 2025 (Boys): Final match was held between GEE and STA on 03 December, 2025. GEE Boys team was Runners-up in the tournament.
⦁ Geography Football League Season 6: Final match was held between  Seismic Strikers and Volatiles FC on 16n June, 2025. Winner team was volatiles FC Win.
