Biography

Professor Dr. Mohammad Rakib Uddin was born on 1 July 1987 in Bogdahor, Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria. His father’s name is Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, and his mother’s name is Yeasmin Begum. He completed his early education in Nabinagar, earning his SSC in 2002 and HSC in 2004. He obtained his B.Sc. (Engg.) in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, in 2009.

Following graduation, Dr. Uddin worked as a Production Engineer (Process) at Global Heavy Chemicals Ltd., Dhaka (2010), before joining the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science at SUST as a faculty member in 2011. He completed his M.Sc. (Engg.) in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science at SUST in 2014 and later pursued an M.Sc. in Environmental Sanitation at Ghent University, Belgium, graduating in 2016.

In 2018, he commenced his doctoral research at the Laboratory of Thermo-fluid Dynamics, Energy, and HVAC Systems (LaTEC), Università degli Studi di Napoli "Parthenope," Italy, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering in 2023. Since September 2024, he has been serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at LaTEC under the PRIN 2022 Projects AGRIRENEW and POTTERS, focusing on decarbonisation of the agro-industrial sector and innovative sludge management technologies. He continues to hold his faculty position at SUST, currently on study and research leave.
