The CEP Alumni Association (CEPAA) represents the global community of graduates from the Department of Chemical Engineering & Polymer Science (CEP) at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST). Established in 1993, the department is the only one in Bangladesh that combines Chemical Engineering with specialized Polymer Science and Technology, making it a unique center of excellence. Over the past three decades, CEP has developed a strong academic reputation supported by updated curricula, extensive laboratory facilities, industrial training through TICI and in-plant placements, and international research collaborations with leading universities around the world. Its programs are accredited by BAETE, reflecting its commitment to maintaining global academic standards. CEP has consistently produced skilled, globally competitive engineers.


Building on this strong foundation, over the last 30 years CEP graduates known as CEPians have established themselves across diverse career paths, including chemical and process industries, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, glass and ceramics, energy, environment and EHS, research and academia, entrepreneurship, banking, administration, and IT. Many alumni have pursued advanced degrees worldwide, contributing to innovation and forming bridges for international collaboration.


The CEP Alumni Association was formed to connect this vibrant community, enhance professional development, and strengthen ties between alumni, students, and the department. CEPAA supports mentoring initiatives, networking opportunities, academic–industry linkages, and collaborative activities that foster growth and unity among CEPians.

As the department enters its fourth decade, CEPAA and its members continue to uphold the spirit of excellence, innovation, and service connecting generations of graduates and contributing to the progress of Bangladesh and the global engineering community.
