Biography

Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science (CEP) at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet. Since joining SUST in 2014, he has demonstrated consistent excellence in research, teaching, and service. Prior to his tenure at SUST, Dr. Rahman served as a Research Engineer at the Housing and Building Research Institute (HBRI), a research organization under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, where he contributed for more than nine years. His professional journey began in 2005 as a Postgraduate Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR).

Dr. Rahman earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in 2004. He completed his Ph.D. in 2013, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. His research expertise lies in nanomaterials, nanocomposites, MXene/conductive polymer composites, energy materials, and energy storage devices. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to advanced research, he was honored with the prestigious Vice Chancellor's Award at SUST and the Dean's Award for Research Excellence in 2024 from the School of Applied Sciences and Technology at SUST.
