About

As the Department of CSE has grown since 1993, both from faculty members, alumni and current students, there were demands for a platform for collaboration based on common pride of CSE, SUST. Based on this in 2018, there was a grand reunion on the occasion of celebration of the silver jubilee of CSE, SUST. During the reunion, CSE Alumni Association was formed and the draft Constitution was approved as majority of alumnus and students were present. Therefore, the first executive committee for the SUST CSE Alumni Association was formed based on a nomination process which was unanimously agreed upon. Professor Md. Jahirul Islam from the first batch was appointed as the President and Md. Saiful Aziz Shamseer was appointed as the General Secretary of the first executive committee, which started working for the 2018–2019 term.

The purpose of the Alumni Association is to foster a spirit of loyalty and promote the general welfare of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SUST. This association exists to support the department's goals and strengthen the ties between alumni and current students.

Social

  • Uphold the image of the CSE Department of SUST.
  • Create bridges and opportunities for acquaintance between alumni and maintain cooperation and camaraderie.
  • Assist members facing social or health-related crises.
  • Provide financial assistance to meritorious and underprivileged CSE students.
  • Play an active role in the department’s overall development.

Professional

  • Organize assemblies, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, reunions, and tours.
  • Collaborate on educational and job-related matters.

Intellectual

  • Establish a welfare fund for national disasters and engage in community development activities.
  • Collaborate with similar organizations nationally and internationally.
  • Undertake activities that align with and advance the above objectives.
