The Department of Chemistry at SUST actively encourages and supports its students in attaining international standards by offering a range of competitive scholarships. These scholarships recognize and reward students based on their academic excellence, leadership qualities, and meaningful contributions to society.
ESIA Fellowship
The Education, Science & Innovation Alliance is a North America-based nonprofit organization, primarily formed by Shahjalal University of Science and Technolgy (SUST) Chemistry alumni, dedicated to fostering science and innovation among promising students. ESIA offers an annual fellowship award for current SUST Chemistry students (excluding MS and 1st year 1st semester students) to encourage higher education. Three fellowships of one-time monetary support and certificates are awarded in the following distinct categories:
- i. Academic Excellence
- ii. Acedemic Excellence (Female)
- iii. Community Leadership (for extracurricular involvement)
Applicants must submit a CV, personal statement, academic records, and other documents via email, A joint committee of SUST faculty and ESIA members selects awardees based on the application and an interview.

HRA Award
The Humanitarian-Righteous-Altruistic (HRA) Student Award is designed to honor and support students from the Department of Chemistry, SUST, who demonstrate selfless service, moral conduct, and a commitment to uplifting the underprivileged. Any currently enrolled student in the department is eligible to apply. The award, given to a maximum of three students, includes monetary support equivalent to two semesters' fees and a Certificate of Recognition. Applicants must submit a single PDF (max 4 pages) detailing up to six verifiable humanitarian activities, such as voluntary teaching, relief work, or organizing blood donation camps, along with references. Applications are evaluated based on the activities' impact, the applicant's personal sacrifice, long-term effect, community verification, and moral intent. To know more, email [email protected].
