About

The Alumni Association of Anthropology, SUST (AAA,S) is a voluntary, non-political, and non-profit organization uniting graduates of the Department of Anthropology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.

Formed in 2013 to strengthen connections among alumni, students, and faculty, the Association serves as a common platform to foster academic collaboration, professional networking, and social engagement.

Since its inception, AAA,S has worked to promote the shared values of anthropology such as inclusivity, critical thinking, and community service while celebrating the diverse achievements of its members across Bangladesh and abroad. The Association believes in harnessing collective experience and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to both the department and society.

Key objectives of the Association include:

• Strengthening the alumni network and promoting lifelong engagement among members.

• Supporting current students through mentorship, career guidance, and academic initiatives.

• Facilitating professional exchanges, workshops, and collaborative research.

• Encouraging social responsibility and contributions to humanitarian and development causes.

• Preserving the legacy and pride of the SUST Anthropology community.

AAA,S regularly organizes seminars, cultural events, and networking activities that connect generations of anthropologists under one umbrella. By building bridges between academia and practice, the Association strives to enhance the visibility and impact of anthropology in Bangladesh.
