Biography

Dr. Md. Shahabul Haque has been serving as a faculty member of Political Studies, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh since 2006. Presently he has been working as an Associate Professor. He has completed Ph.D. in Beijing Normal University under the program of Education, leadership, and policy in June, 2020 with the fund of Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). His PhD dissertation was on Student participation of Higher Education Governance in Bangladesh. Mr. Haque also graduated in International Migration and Social Cohesion from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2012 under Erasmus Mundus program, he wrote masters thesis on Informal Social Integration Process of Rohingyas Refugees in Bangladesh. He has completed his first masters (MS) and bachelors (BSS) form Dhaka University at the Department of Political Science. Prior to starting teaching career, Mr. Haque engaged in journalism of his country and worked as a Staff Correspondent of the oldest Bengali daily newspaper the daily Ittefaq’. Besides, he has been contributing several research works on international and local migration, governance, education, and national election in Bangladesh and published in the journal of Developing Country Studies, RSC, Canadian Social Science, The Jahangirnagar Review, World Voice Nexus, Cross Cultural Communication, Asian Profile, Society and Change, Journal of Politics and Administration, Journal of North East Region, and Asian Journal of Humanities and Social Studies. Mr. Haque published already 18 research articles and a book, title Coalition Politics of Bangladesh: 1954-2014 (in Bengali) in 2014. Dr. Haque moderated a number of seminars in national press club and presented key note paper. He also participated in different conferences in Bangladesh and abroad. He was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Politics and Administration from 2013 to 2015. Mr. Haque was the former President of Dhaka University Journalist Association (DUJA) in 2003-04. Mr. Haque visited 17 countries to participate in different conferences and study purposes.
