Biography

Noor-E-Jannat Meem is Lecturer in the Department of English, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Currently, she is also serving as Guest Teacher in English Language in the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), SUST. Before joining the Department of English, SUST, she served as Adjunct Lecturer in English at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in Bangladesh University of Textiles, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has completed Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts with distinction in English from the Department of English, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In recognition of securing the highest CGPA in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Jahangirnagar University she was awarded the Prime Minister Gold Medal and University Grants Commission (UGC) Merit Scholarship in 2018. Her intellectual interests span over, but are not restricted to, postcolonial theory and literature, contemporary literature, critical theory, cultural studies, critical pedagogy. Her choice of teaching as a career is solely driven by her admiration and passion for the profession. She believes that teaching is always more than what happens in the classroom, especially as a teacher teaching literature and encouraging progressive ideas and creative logical discussions.
