Biography

MD SHAJJADUR RAHMAN is functioning as a lecturer at the department of Oceanography, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He received Bachelor degree in Marine Science from the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries at the University of Chittagong during 2015. He completed his MS degree in 2016 for his research on “Microplastic contamination in Penaeid shrimp from the Northern Bay of Bengal” from the same University. He is the first profounder who works for the microplastic pollutions in tiger and brown shrimp in Bangladesh. He also assesses pollution (trace/heavy metals) at rivers, estuaries and coastal waters using innovative Artificial Mussel (AM) Technology in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira regions. His research interest on Plastic pollution, Marine zooplankton identification and enumeration, Physiochemical parameters of water and sediments, Diseases (microscopic) analysis of marine invertebrates.
