Biography

Muhammad Mizanur Rahman started his journey with the Department of Oceanography as a Lecturer at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) in 2020. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Marine science from the Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries at the University of Chittagong in 2007 and 2009 respectively. In addition, Mr. Rahman completed 15 credits as part of his M.Sc. in Rural Development and Natural Resource Management at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences -SLU, Uppsala, Sweden, in 2019. Prior to joining at the Department of Oceanography of SUST, He worked as a Senior Research Associate for the Center for Participatory Research and Development- CPRD, a research-based national NGO in the field of Climate Change from 2016 to 2019. Before that, Mr. Rahman, also worked for the world's largest conservation organization named International Union for Conservation of Nature -IUCN for about 5 years in different projects such as Marine Protected Area, Mangroves for the Future, etc. The teaching areas of Mr. Rahman are Climate change and marine Environment, Mangrove and Coral Ecosystem, and Marine Resource Processing and Extraction, etc., Mr. Rahman published 09 international Scientific Articles as well as contributed different study reports as an author. He also participated in several international and national workshops, seminars, conferences like COP24, and Green Climate Fund proposal writing training. Moreover, Mr. Rahman role played as a trainer and facilitator in a number of training and workshops at the national level.
