Biography

Born in 1973 in the District of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Studied at Rajshahi University School and Rajshahi College. After H.Sc. moved to Sylhet with parents. Joined the Department of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh as a lecturer in 1995. Received Ph.D. degree in 1999 from the Optoelectronics Group of Cavendish Laboratory, Department of Physics, University of Cambridge with Professor Sir Richard H. Friend. During 1999-2000, worked at the same university as a postdoctoral fellow and then returned to SUST. Became Professor of Physics in June 2009. Worked as a short term fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Bath, UK in 2003 with Professor Paul Raithby. In 2006 was a Royal Society Fellow at the Department of Physics, Durham University, UK where worked with Professor Andy Monkman. Published 25 peer reviewed journal articles (1776+ citations). Top h cited (581) research article is The Energy Gap Law for Triplet States in Pt-Containing Conjugated Polymers and Monomers in Journal of the American Chemical Society (2001).
