Biography

Foysal completed his PhD at Curtin University, Australia, with a Commonwealth Government Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship. His research has laid the foundation for many environmental and aquatic microbiome studies. He worked with Nobel Laureate Professor Barry James Marshall at the Marshall Centre. His research primarily focuses on understanding 'omics' datasets linked to health, diseases, and environmental contaminants (toxins and antimicrobial resistance) by analyzing microbial communities and their interactions, gene functions, and correlations. He is the author of 75 high-impact research articles and has contributed one book chapter. These include articles published in Journal of Medical Virology (IF 20.69), Journal of Hazardous Materials (IF 13.6), Water Research (IF 12.8), Reviews in Aquaculture (IF 10.579), Chemosphere (IF 8.943), Frontiers in Microbiology (IF 6.007), Frontiers in Medicine (IF 5.06), Scientific Reports (IF 4.69), and Microbial Ecology (IF 4.552).
