Biography

Bijit Kumar Banik has completed his BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineer from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. He holds an MSc degree in Environmental Engineering (JEMES) from Technical University of Hamburg, Germany / Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain and a PhD degree in the same field from University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy/UNESCO-IHE, the Netherlands / University of Paris-East, France, with an Erasmus Mundus scholarshipin both cases. In particular, his PhD thesis title is “Sewer Systems Management: Illicit intrusion characterization and optimal sensor placement”. He is currently working as a Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. His research areas are Data, modeling and uncertainty, Multi-objective model-based optimization of water systems, Environmental Technology, Water treatment, Water quality. He teaches Environmental modeling, Water supply and Wastewater management, Software for model integration.
