Biography

K. Taufiq Elahi received his first degree in Architecture from Khulna
University, Khulna, Bangladesh in 2001. After a few years in active professional practice, he started working in the capacity of a lecturer at the Department of Architecture, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh as one of the founding faculty members. Presently, he is an associate professor at the same department. Elahi has published seven peer-reviewed articles in journals of both national and international repute. His research area includes: Society and Architecture of Bengal, Informal Sectors in Housing; and History, Theory and Criticism in Architecture. Beside his academic profession, Elahi practices as a freelance architect and likes photography, music and driving vintage cars.
