Biography
Mohammad Nashir Uddin has been teaching Public Administration at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh, as a faculty member since March 2005. He started his career in 2003 at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and then in 2004 he moved over to EXIM Bank Ltd. He graduated with honours and obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. He also completed a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree in 2012 from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan. He completed his degree of PhD (Sustainable Resource Management) from the School of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Newcastle, Australia. His research interests include public policy, public administration, urban governance, environmental governance, social research methodology, etc. He has published some articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals on social research methodology, public policy like public health, and higher education; e-governance and development administration; judiciary; millennium development goals; and Islamic administration, etc. His papers appeared in the referred journals, namely- International Journal of Social Research, Bangladesh Journal of Public Administration, The International Journal of Development Affairs, Journal of Research in International Business and Management, Lok Proshason Samoeeky, Universal Journal of Education and General Studies, etc. His publications also include several working papers and conference proceedings. He has been supervising theses, monographs and seminars of graduate and undergraduate students as per his duties in his continuing teaching career.

During teaching career, Mohammad Nashir Uddin has taught a number of courses of Public Administration at SUST and several courses at Leading University, and Sylhet International University. These include Advanced Social Research, Public Financial Management, Administrative Law, Leadership in Administration and Management: Cultural Context, Social Research (Introduction, Methodology, Approaches, Epistemology, Qualitative), Introduction to Public Administration, Local Government and Rural Development, Public Policy Analysis, Comparative Public Administration, Administrative System Analysis, Administration in South and South-east Asia, Bangladesh Studies etc. His current interest includes- Environmental governance and livelihood impact, Public policy and administration, Local governance, Public health administration, and Research Methodology.
