Biography

Abdul Hannan was born in Bhola, Bangladesh on 17 December 1970. His secondary and higher secondary educations were in Bhola. He received B. Sc. (Hons.) and M. Sc. (in Physics) degrees from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Soon after completing M. Sc. degree, he was appointed on 28 May, 1995 as a lecturer in the Department of Physics at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He has been serving as a professor in the same Department since 22 June, 2009.

Research Interests

  • Studies of crystal lattice, superlattice and magnetic behaviors of solids by X-ray and neutron diffractions under high-pressure and low-temperature conditions.
  • Searching the effects of pressure on the behaviors of solids.
  • Mineralogical, elemental and radioactivity analysis of various colored rocks.
  • Sol-gel synthesis, structural, magnetic and optical properties of Pr2CoCrO6 double perovskite.
