Biography
Dr. Md Ashrafuzzaman was born in a small rural village Katabhanga, district Chuadanga, country Bangladesh in 1981. He started his primary education at Udaypur Govt. Primary School and completed the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSC) in 1997 from Katabhanga High School. After that, he did his Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSC) in 1999 from Kushtia Govt. College, Bangladesh. Later, he completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) honours in Agriculture and Master of Science (MS) in Biotechnology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He was appointed as a faculty member (Lecturer) in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet-3114 in 2010, later promoted as Assistant Professor in 2011, Associate Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2021. He achieved another MSc degree in Plant Biotechnology from Wageningen University (WUR), Netherlands in 2015. In the year of 2018, he has been awarded PhD degree from the Institute of Crop Science and Resource Conservation (INRES), University of Bonn, Germany.
