Biography
Dr. Shishir Kanti Pramanik was born in a village in Magura, a southern district of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh in May 21, 1980. He passed S.S.C and H.S.C examinations in 1995 and 1997, respectively. He completed B. Sc. (Honors) and M. Sc. Degrees in Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh in 2004 and 2006, respectively. Prior to join at SUST, Mr. Pramanik was a lecturer and Sr. lecturer at the Primeasia University, Banani, Dhaka (2006-2010). He joined the Department of Chemistry, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, Bangladesh in January 2011 as a Lecturer and was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in 12 July 2012. In 2013, he moved to the Wageningen University, Netherlands for pursuing M.Sc. studies with NFP fellowship and the degree awarded in 2015. After completing Master program, in 2015, he again moved to the University of Tsukuba for pursuing doctoral studies (PhD) and he achieved a Diploma in 2019 from the department of Nano-Science and Nano-Technology, Graduate School of pure and applied Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He was a Japanese Government Scholar (MEXT) during the period of October 2015 to March 2019. Currently he is also working as a professor in the department of Chemistry, SUST.
