**Research Focus
Fields: Materials Chemistry for hard coating, environmental pollution control and electrochemical energy applications
1. Synthesis of doped, co-doped semiconducting composite materials as thin films and powders for visible and UV light photo-catalysis, photo-voltaic, anti-microbial activities, environmental pollution control studies, CO2 reduction, H2 production, water purification, and other applications as functional materials.
2. Fabrication of solar cells with dyes, carbon/quantum dots, and other sensitizing materials using thin film technology and their applications as low-cost, renewable, and environmentally friendly energy conversion devices.
3. Development of thin film deposition technology for the synthesis and device applications of semiconducting nitride and oxide nanostructures using hydrotgermal, solvothermal, Sol-gel, dip-coating, drop-coating, chemical vapor deposition, and physical vapor deposition.
4. Studies on composite materials of g-C3N4 and/or MXene with different semiconducting materials and their applications in photo-electrochemistry
5. Three-dimensional nanotube yarn-based solid state solar cells
6. Thin Film Deposition for Fuel Cell Manufacturing.

Sample preparation techniques: Hydrothermal method, Solvothermal method; using teflon inner cylinder type closed reaction vessel, Sol-gel method, Microwave synthesis method, Ceramic method, Precursor method, Chemical vapor deposition (MW plasma & RF plasma in Saga University Japan), Physical vapor deposition [sputtering and ion beam deposition in Turkey, South Korea and Japan (JAERI of Tokai Mura, Ibaraki and Tsukuba Photo factory, KEK)], etc, SPECS (Germany) Phobios In situ sample preparation with XPS System for surface analysis of nanomaterials, thin films and powders (I was fully engaged in the set-up up and using operator of that cluster in Turkey)
