Biography
Dr. Md. Azharul Arafath is currently working as a Professor in the department of chemistry at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He obtained a PhD in 2018 from Universiti Sains Malaysia of Malaysia under the program of USM-TWAS postgraduate fellowship. He graduated B. Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry and M. Sc. with research in Chemistry from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He specializes in the area of Inorganic chemistry, particularly in the coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, material chemistry, and their application as anticancer, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti- Alzheimer’s agents, energy storage material, environmental application, and catalysis. He first joined as lecturer in 2009 in the chemistry department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Khulna, Bangladesh. Then he joined as a lecturer in 2011 and promoted to assistant professor in 2012 in the department of chemistry of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He was promoted to associate professor in 2018 and professor in 2022 in the department of Chemistry. He was born in a teacher family at Nawpara of Mymensingh in 1982. His father Reaz Uddin was a School teacher and his mother Sakhina Akthar is a housewife.
