Biography
Dr Mohammad Shaiful Alam Amin graduated from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh with a B.Sc. Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science in 2009. He later achieved M.Sc. Engineering jointly from the Université de Montpellier (France), the Czech University of Chemistry and Technology (Czech Republic), the Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain) and the University of Twente (Netherlands). He completed PhD in carbon-based membrane bioreactors from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Spain, in 2022. Dr Amin has since worked as a faculty member at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science.
Dr Amin's main area of research focused on environmental pollution and remediation. The development and synthesis of carbonaceous nanomaterials for membrane precursors, catalysis, and wastewater treatment are particularly interesting. Additionally, he is interested in converting waste substrate to energy or other value-added products, for example, microbial fuel cells and polyhydroxyalkanoate production.
