The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a scientific society based in the United States that supports scientific inquiry in the field of chemistry. Founded in 1876 at New York University, the ACS currently has more than 155,000 members at all degree levels and for all fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, and related fields. The ACS is a leading source of scientific information through its peer-reviewed scientific journals, national conferences, and the Chemical Abstracts Service. The ACS has student chapters in virtually every major university in the United States and outside the United States as well. These student chapters mainly focus on volunteering opportunities, career development, and the discussion of student and faculty research. Under the guidance of the esteemed faculty advisor, Dr. Nur Uddin Ahamad, Ph.D., a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at SUST, the ACS Student Chapter at SUST is poised to make meaningful contributions to the field of chemistry and foster academic and professional development among its members. The Founding President of the ACS Student Chapter, SUST is Habibur Rahman, session: 2019-20. And the Founding Vice-president is Fariha Sanjida, session: 2019-20. The Other founding members are Md. Mehedi Hasan, Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, Md. Abdul Ahad Pramanik, Rafid Ahmed, Md. Ashikur Rahman & Sk Faisal Ahmed. Everyone is from the session 2019-20. ACS Student Chapter is happy to announce that, we have also received a start-up grant for accomplishing different chemistry related events which will be held in future. Students from Chemistry or Chemical Sciences will be able to get access to the resources and opportunities offered by American Chemical Society. The Chapter’s mission is to advance the broader chemistry enterprise and practitioners for the benefit of the earth and all its people. Our vision is to improve all people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry.
